Exercises with your lower legs as the primary target:

  • Calf Press

    This is a great alternative to strengthen your calves without putting too much pressure on your spine or shoulders as with some calf machines.

  • Cable Calf Press

    This exercise does not put weight on your spine like a regular standing calf press machine. It also gives your arms a good workout while working your calves.

Exercises with your lower legs as a contributor:

  • Leg Curl

    A great option for hamstring isolation if you prefer not to lie down on your stomach. The back pad encourages your spine to remain still and your hips to remain in contact with the bench.

  • Squats

    Very similar to a free-standing squat, this machine allows you to load the weight on your legs without your upper body holding the weight. It also provides back support therefore encourages good posture, reducing risk of injury by having improper form.
