Torso Twist - Machine

  • Adjust the seat so that you can comfortably reach the arm handles. Select the weight you want to lift, then kneel on the knee pad (or sit, depending on your machine) and grasp the handles.

  • Engage your TVA to stabilize your spine then twist your hips to lift the weight (or twist your ribs, depending on your machine). Pause, then resist the weight as you slowly return it to the starting position.

  • This machine may be seated or kneeling in your gym. They work in similar ways to train your abdominals.

  • Abdominals 

  • Internal/external obliques

  • TIP: Concentrate on maintaining neutral spine throughout the exercise,not allowing your pelvis to tilt to the front or back.
