I am a 63 year old guy who went from a BMI of 29 to 23, and eliminated my type 2 diabetes without medication between the ages of 57 and 60. I ran my first marathon last year and work out six days per week and stick to a pretty strict whole food, ketogenic diet to keep my diabetes at bay. I feel like I know more about nutrition than most RD’s but know much less about kinesiology other than what I have learned personally by running, cycling, swimming and strength training.
I would like to be in the business of helping other mature adults achieve the type of transformation I have accomplished in myself but have no credentials other than my personal experience and an MBA.
I have researched a variety of personal trainer certification programs online and have really only concluded that I will need more than the basic PT certification from any of them to equip me to address my target audience. Any guidance I can get from experienced fitness professionals would be welcome. I plan to make a choice and get started before the end of February.
