About Me

  • Akkk!

    Suddenly, shockingly, unemployed.

    Thoughts? Don't hesitate!

Send me a message. No one works harder than me.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled exercise stuff:

Miami, FL: all-around athlete; jack of all trades in sports and life.

Currently, thinking about ski season, indoor climbing, sailing, and the last triathlon of the season.

Work out running & biking in Coral Gables, ocean swim off Key Biscayne, pool swim at South Miami LA Fitness.

Would like to do more: sailing, diving, rock climbing & team sports.

  • I'll keep PR's here:
    Plank 03:35
    Half-Marathon 2:08

  • I want to do another olympic triathlon; I'm also attempting to be not terrible at ballet, and to add flexibility and weight training to my regimen.

  • I'm been dreaming about more extreme endurance events...I think I'd have to do another half marathon, then a marathon, before I started realistically thinking about double marathons.

  • Being alone with my thoughts.

  • I get up early enough that I can't talk myself out of it! But that's because I exercise alone; what I really need is a partner.

  • One that's at my limit for endurance; the Olymipc Triathlons I've done fit that bill. Of course, the last Olympic (Sept) I crashed pretty badly, so maybe that's too much endurance...

Fitness Details

  • Improve performance

  • I am able to get started, and once started I give myself a decent workout.

  • I am experienced, knowledgeable and fairly skilled.

  • I am fairly experienced, but by no means an expert.

  • I prefer friendly partners who help me work harder than I do on my own.

  • Early mornings (before 8am)

Don't you hate it when a trip breaks up your schedule? It never really dawns on me till I get back to aschedule how much I've missed working out. But the travel, the drinks after work, the company just makes it soooo difficult.

I must find some time to add weights into the mix! Arms & shoulders, mostly, as I seem to be doing all core/legs with the Swim/Bike/Run & Ballet.

Ok i've not been posting, but i have been working out a lot. I started an olympic triathlon last week, but I wrecked on the bike, and didn't finish. I'm mostly ok at this point, though my left hand is still badly sprained, and probably won't be right for a month or so.

Anyway, I pledge to post my workouts this month!

Another summer haitus over, and I was able to finish my first 1/2 marathon! 2:08 and a ton of hills, so I'm pretty pleased!

Also - I tried a >competing platform< 'map my run', and I am able to say that I prefer this one, with a few exceptions.

2010 was kinda a mixed bag. My triathlons were cut from 6 in 06 to just 1 in 10 b/c of schedule and injury...but i did get a chance to try ballet, which was really interesting...not sure where 2011 is headed, but I have a few things I'd like to do, like a long distance swim race, a half marathon, etc. Luckily, I won't have long to wat before it becomes time to figure it out!

Well I finished my first half-marathon this year, training for my second currently. Found a running partner in DC (which helps a lot). Aced my first semester of grad school. And a have a few other irons in the fire that hopefully will produce great results early on in 2011. Thanks for asking! How did 2010 work out for you?

Have you ever done any of those trail runs at Oleta? "No Whining" is their motto. I was in no shape to do the 5k in was brutal and hot and I fell...and I can't tell you when I had more FUN! felt like a little kid...
