About Me

  • I am a 58 year old female living in Brooklyn, NY. I'm a special education teacher who enjoys working out and reading. I enjoy cooking and going to the beach. Shopping is also high on my list of fun things to do.

  • I was an ISSA certified personal trainer for several years in addition to my full time job. At that time I worked out regularly and despite undiagnosed celiac disease I was in pretty good shape for my age.

  • I have not been doing any cardio for the past several years. I'ts always too hot, too cold or I'm too tired or too busy.

  • I know I should be doing cardio at least 3 times a week and that is a goal I would like to set.

  • I am looking into using the Bosu to increase core fitness and balance stability.

  • I need to work out in the morning. I will do my floor exercises in the morning at home but feel I don't have time to go out to do cardio and won't do it at home since I live in an apartment with tenants below me.

  • I plan my workouts ahead of time. I write everything down.

  • When my muscles feel like they have been worked but not tortured. I also want to feel like my head is in a good place,not wired.

Fitness Details

  • Improve overall health

  • I am able to get started, and once started I give myself a decent workout.

  • I am fairly experienced, but by no means an expert.

  • I am experienced, knowledgeable and fairly skilled.

  • I prefer to exercise alone.

  • Early mornings (before 8am)

    I have heard of that DVD-do you like it? My sister and a friend of mine love DVD's for workouts because there is no commute time involved. I'll tell them to check that one out!

    I'm making lasagna. I believe that it is most important to limit portions and eat what you like. Fortunately for me I like a lot of healthy foods. Of course, fat grams do seem to become cellulite but I did use part skim cheeses in the lasagna. Counts for something, right?

    Now that the school year is coming to an end I will do more walking and ride my bike.
