About Me

  • hi, i'm the proud mother of two beautiful teenagers and i'm in fairly good shape and pretty healthy. i used to run every morning and love to be outdoors and work out in general. previous office job did a number on me but ready to get back out there on the fitness scene!

  • Running for 1.5 hrs every morning as I watch the sunrise. That was my favorite part of the day! People in my area would time themselves to work with me and honk their horns and yell out "you go girl"! I can still hear them now.

  • The day I woke up and realized I was bored out of my mind and fat!

  • Running a 5k within 30 minutes.

  • Yoga and dancing are more my style.

  • Boredom and lack of energy.

  • To keep myself motivated I log in to Fit Link and pray. Sometimes I go outside and play with my kids. They are avid runners and motivate me to "just do it". We'll drive around and find different routes to run.

  • A great workout is one I didn't want to start but finished it!

  • Lose body fat

  • I have little motivation to exercise.

  • I am fairly experienced, but by no means an expert.

  • I am a novice and dont know where to start.

  • I prefer partners who push through an intense workout with minimal chit-chat.

  • Evenings (5pm-10pm)

    Biking is soo doable. I had cancelled my membership from LA Fitness awhile ago because of the extra costs and I have a gym in my community but.... the classes kept me working out regularly. Spin class was a beast but it motivated me. You are right about the running when you gain weight.. it's weird, I don't even feel like myself . Evening workouts around 7 or 8 would be perfect for me. I am just starting out again so I know it will be hard but I need a workout partner to motivate me. Where do you workout?

    hi joann,try out a very small goal like making it to the gym 3 times this week for a half an hour,next week bump it up to an hour,if you try weight watchers you have to workout while you do weight watchers.I have had clients in the past who only did weight watchers and lost the weight but once they started to eat normally they gained all the weight back and more.I would also look through the magazines and find someone you want to look like and hang it somewhere you will always see it.That helps with motivation.Hope this helps

    You're Right that watching TV shows like the Biggest Loser helps with motivation, I tried it just to see! I also like the TV show Cook Yourself Thin. Its a newer one, and it helps me want to eat food that is healthy and cooked in such a way that it is full of flavor without the fat. Have you gotten into Biking at all?

    I am 35 years old and have been struggling with my weight for quite some time. This time I am motivated to make some progress and keep it up. This website is a great motivator and educational tool for me because I noticed that when I first signed up I was excited but then I dropped off the face of the site for three months. Here I am three months later and a few pounds heavier. Lord knows how much I would have weighed and how healthy I would have been had I stuck with my plans consistently. So thanks to you all for being great motivators for me and keep it up- I need your help!!

    hi joann, it is a blessing 2 have my pamela 2 keep me motivated! as result, i have lost 14 lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am so excited about my results and WILL keep going forward. i use 2 think age was a factor, but now i know its not. ur much younger than i am....so if i can do it, u can. hey lets keep in touch and keep each other focused. consistency takes a lot of prayer and a made up mind...we tend to do what we really want to do. so i'm pulling for u!!! dont let me catch up to ur weight now....45 lbs 2 go 4 that! whew, a lot of xercising 4 the old lady. so here we go...get it moving and going forward on this life changing journey.

    I'm not feeling too good right now. I am not consistent which means I'm getting no where. I am planning on weight watchers to help me have some sort of support. Maybe checking in on a weekly basis here will help me too. I need help man, I'm considered obese now (215 lbs bmi of 36). I am usually successful in everything I do, why not this?

    I appreciate your comment because I am excited about biking right now. Since the weight gain, running is abit too much on my feet but biking is doable. And because I live near Universal Studios there are lots of sidewalks and nature all around.
