    About Me

    • I am a middle-aged woman, who used to be in very good shape (ex-gymnast, aikido, inline skating, dancer, etc.). Since I moved from New Jersey to CA, I have lost my motivation to workout on a regular basis. I used to have two walking partners in NJ that helped me stay motivated. I have not found a "partner" since moving to CA, and my husband is not interested in being a motivated workout partner. I'm looking for a workout partner who belongs to Bally's. Let's help each other!

    • I like to take pilates and yoga classes. Once I get there, I'm motivated. Getting there is the tricky part!

    • I hate lifting weights because I feel like an uncordinated amateur. Most of the people who lift weights at the gym look like they know what they are doing, which intimidates me.

    • Lose the 30 pounds I have gained in the last 3 years, since moving to CA.

    • I'd love to find a good hip hop, salsa, or pole dancing class!

    • Getting my tired old a$#&* to the gym!

    • I don't, that's the problem. When I am motivated, it is usually because I am taking a class I really like.

    • Sweat, sweat, and more sweat!

I worked with a trainer for about 5 weeks to get started so I would know what to do. That helped me a lot. Now I set up a routine for myself with a regular schedule and then stick to that. I have one main activity for each day and an alternate activity in case I don't want to do the other one. Sounds crazy but works for me! I update my schedule every month so if I see something new I want to try I can. My body is so much more toned and now I know the secrets to getting in shape. Loosing weight is harder since it requires way more effort than I am putting in now. But I do love it!

I understand what you mean about lifting weights. Funny thing is, most people are imitating things they have seen other people do. Try starting out on machines, which usually have pictures and directions on them telling you how to work them. Your gym may even offer a free orientation on some of their machines...good luck!
