About Me

  • I am a born again fitness junkie. After high school, I lost touch with health and fitness in my life. It took high blood pressure, borderline diabetes, and weighing in at over 350 pounds to wake me up. In April 2005 I had Vertical Banded Gastroplasty and lost almost 200 pounds. I feel like a new person and I am not taking anything for granted.

  • I recently (October 1, 2006) ran the Twin Cities Marathon.

  • Weighing in at over 350 pounds and having high blood pressure at 31 years old.

  • I have a few goals that I like to reach. First, I have started swimming again (something I haven't really done since high school) and I 'd love to do some competitive masters swimming in the next 6 months. Also, barring any injury or problems, I'd like to run Grandma's Marathon in June 2006.

  • Weight training for strength.

  • Getting out the door and to the Gym or run.

  • Set small, achievable goals.

  • I love leaving the gym feeling tired yet refreshed.

    Thank you for sharing your story! I too have been all over the charts when it comes to weight & fitness, so can appreciate all the hard work it takes ...but also know the thrill of reaching fitness goals, so certainly wish you more and more of those moments!

    That's an amaaazing weight-loss and life-gain that you have to share. I'm a MN girl . . living a little too far from the Cities to find anyone near me to motivate me to loose the 100+ pounds I am hoping to free myself from. If you have any tips . . I'd welcome them!
