    About Me

    • I am an avid hiker living in Denver, CO; it's therapy for me. I have worked full time in the schools and just started summer vacation. I have decided to work half time for the next 3 school years entering semi-retirement which is a huge adjustment for me and would love to add more healthy related exercise to my life during the work week since I will have more time.

    • A few years ago, I had a gust of energy and was constantly moving and preparing for long hikes. I hiked on the Appalachian Trail across the state of Maryland. During this period of time, I was in the best shape I had ever been in.

    • I have found that I am an all or nothing kind of person. Either completely in (active, only eating healthy with no sugar, etc.) or out which is where I am at inner motivation to be as active as I was previously and eating too much sugar. When I have an exercise buddy, it helps me to move back into the healthy "all in" phase.

    • I would love to move back into an active healthy lifestyle and hope to find other workout buddies in order to get to this goal.

    • I have 2 girlfriends who have become my main hiking partners. I'd love to have other women who live nearby (I live near May library which is close to Cook Park Rec Center). I feel I need to focus on upper body strength & stretching (which could be with free weights). It could be walking or biking daily or every other day. I'm open.

    • I really dislike gyms, although I do belong to Chuze Fitness (Monaco/Evans) which costs $10/month. I basically go there when there are movies in their movie theatre and go on the elliptical and treadmill. I SHOULD go do other things there, but I don't.

    • It's hard for me to stay motivated.

    • I have spurts of consistent exercise, but then go through periods of inactivity.

    • I have worked out a little but have a lot to learn.

    • I am a novice and dont know where to start.

    • I like to workout with friends, but still want to get a good workout.
