34 year old female
I have my massage & personal training licenses, as well as a kinesiology degree. I have a huge passion when it comes to all aspects of health and fitness. I want to share with other people my story, and hear theirs & maybe even shed some light on some new things to try.
Growing up, my parents never really took care of themselves like they should have for their own good or to set an example for us (5 girls). I, thankfully, have been able to set the stage for my sisters and show them that they can be healthy & happy too.
This past year I fought ovarian cancer - one of the last people I would've ever thought would have a potentially terminal illness. I was an avid gym goer, ate healthy & took care of myself like someone really should. But, now that i'm over it and doin great, i'm back into the swing of things & getting back hard into my gym routine.
I'd love to help others reach their personal fitness goals too, and if my story motivates them, then I couldn't ask for more.
I was such a chubby kid! I started playing sports really early and kept off the weight as a teenager. Honestly, you can hit me later if you want, but I was never bigger than a size 2. Through the ovarian cancer, I had to get into a size 6-7 when my doctor recommended I gain weight before they started the taxol shots. It was horrifying for me to be that many sizes over what my normal potential is.
I've worked my buns BACK off & am feeling better than ever. 2 months ago I finished my taxol injections. One month ago, I was married to the best man EVER! And he supported me through it all.
I would like to start kickboxing again. Before the cancer, I was training in nashville professionally & would love to start up again. Another goal is to get my run time back down. I clocked a 16:33 2 - miler. For someone who could easily clear a mile in 5 35, that's HORRIBLE! I want my flat 6 pk back. I really need to start focusing on my diet.
When I look great, I feel great. When I feel great, I look great. It reflects on each other all the time. So, I just know the times I look and feel the best are the times when I take my health seriously. Knowing that i look AND feel great is enough to keep me going. Who doesn't want to feel 10 or 20 years younger than they really are??????
The best workouts that i've had have been when I am zipping up my gym back, getting up from the abs mat after doing my weights & cardio knowing I am so ready to take a hot shower, sip on a protein shake while dinner is cooking and i'm going to be SO sore tomorrow.
I love feeling the muscle fatigue afterward an intensive training session.
Maintain current fitness
I am consistent and able to workout intensely.
I consider myself somewhat of an expert.
I prefer partners who push through an intense workout with minimal chit-chat.
