Colorado Springs Fitness
Once considered a resort town whose high mountains and mineral springs offered unlimited health benefits, Colorado Springs remains a city of beautiful landscapes and endless fitness opportunity. If you love to exercise outdoors than Colorado Springs is the city for you. Colorado's famouse mountain range, Pikes Peak, is 14,110 feet above sea level and brings in over half a million visitors yearly. You can join Challenge Unlimited to do a mountain biking tour of the 19 mile Pikes Peak Highway, or you can hike any number of other trails including Barr Trail. Another natural beauty in the city is the Garden of the Gods, a conglomeration of 300' tall sandstone formations perfect for technical climbing and bouldering. The less adventurous can also just hike around the sandstone. Colorado Spring's favorable climate makes it great for year-round physical activity. In the winter, you can attend ice-skating classes or hockey games at Mark Sertich Ice Center. For those who just like to go to the gym, there is the local favorite, Flex Gym & Fitness, a great bodybuilding gym, and numerous other health club facilities.
