About Me

  • Just looking to feel fabulous, inside & out! Working lots of hours while going to school only allows so much time for working out & staying in shape, so for a few years I just let it slip & boy did it show (and fast!) Now I'm practically in the state of panic, until I can get a better handle on this and am quite sure that I will. I am looking forward to getting back into my "skinny" clothes!

  • Highlight? Well I'd have to say when I went in for Coast Guard training (at the PineyPoint MD Base.) Was somewhat uncertain as most of the recruits were half my age, so didn't know how well I'd do at (physically) holding my own. Turns out I was definately able to hold my own (and then some...) In some classes/exams I really smoked these kids! Couldn't believe it & neither could they! But I've always been somewhat athletic and definately competitive so what can I say, It was a blast!

  • Gaining much weight & physically shutting down AFTER a break-up! WHY would anyone let another person have that much of an effect on them? Yikes... lesson learned, back to the gym!

  • Toning & Weight Loss. Mainly to be feeling ready for anything before I head off to Smith. I start in September and it's January so I've got a bit of time, but then again, my goal is pretty ambitious so definately have my work cut out for me.

  • Group Walking, Pilates (took it years ago and would like to find a local class)and really want to get back to swimming. Trouble is I can't stand chlorine and only want to swim in fresh or sea water. While in Hawaii of course, this is a given -but now that I'm back in New England... well the seasons dictate.

  • My feet! Constantly getting blisters and this shortens my time on any standing machines. I alternate with other equipment but really need to get past this!

  • Um... look in the mirror, come to this website, search out new exercises/routines, listen to encouraging music and when all of that fails me I just have to look at my 2008 diary to realize that I definately don't want any of that in my 2009. That certainly compels me to get off my butt --ASAP!

  • Getting in a variety of cardio, free weights & resistance and being able to go as long as I set my goal to for that day.

    New England Weather this month??? No kidding! Although this poses new challenges, I guess it's time for mainly indoor activity & a fun time to get really creative! ;)

    Ooooh-New England water is soooo not as nice as Hawaiian water! I am trying to find a place to swim in NY and it's hard to join a tiny, crowded pool but you are right when you said "get past it". Good luck with the New England weather this month!
