About Me

  • Just turned the big 40 and am even more conscious than I was before about getting back into shape. Enjoy running, jogging, weights, cardio classes, and sprint triathlons. Would like to train for a half marathon and eventually a full triathlon and/or marathon. Moved to PHX in late 2007 and put on about 15 lbs since then. Looking to find others in similar situations in need of a work out partner/group.

  • Hoping to lose 15-20 lbs, increase strength, running endurance, and start swimming again. Overall health is my goal.

  • Hoping to lose 5 lbs per month and increase my running endurance.

  • Running, weight training, marathon traiing, cardio classes

  • One of the most challenging things for me is the motivation factor. I'm not a morning person, so getting up earlier than normal is a constant battle. On the flip side, getting home from work, there's a ton of domesti/social excuses to skip a workout also. Having a buddy/group to workout with is all the motivation I need to stay on track.

  • Play mind games of rewarding myself after reaching specific weight goals. It's not a good reward/motivation system, but it's the only thing that's worked so far.

  • There are times when I spend an hour or more at the gym and come home feeling unsatisfied. There are other times when I go for a 20-30 minute run and I'm totally high on life. Looking for a good mix of activities to define a great workout and keep me interested & motivated, while simultaneously achieving my fitness goals.

  • I have trouble getting started, but once started I workout intensely.

  • I am fairly experienced, but by no means an expert.

  • I have worked out a little but have a lot to learn.

  • I prefer friendly partners who help me work harder than I do on my own.

  • Evenings (5pm-10pm)
